Controls
The basic controls use almost every button on the PS2 controller. The analog stick moves the character around levels. If you press down the "L3" button you will sprint faster, and "X" is used for jumps. "R2" is the trigger button, "R1" is the grenade-throwing button and "Square" will reload your gun. Use "L2" for a more accurate aim and "L1" for the "Adrenaline Boost" that actually slows down time and lets you take more accurate shots. Switch weapons with "Triangle" and crouch down with the "Circle" button.
Raptor Mini-Game
When a raptor gets close and attacks, it will initiate a raptor mini-game where you use hand-to-hand combat to fend off the dinosaur. Follow the on-screen buttons to fight off the raptor. If you successfully follow the buttons then you will defeat the dinosaur and move on.
Code: Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot
The first level features tutorials on the basic game functions. Travel ahead and kill off the dinosaurs as they approach you. Look in any boxes or near dead humans for guns and ammo. After you drop down from the second cliff, a cut-scene will play with a vortex. Kill off the dinosaurs that appear out of the vortex, grab the turret piece and then continue on until you come across a raptor nest. Kill off the family of dinosaurs, collect the rifle and the level will end.
Far From Shore, Far From Home
Travel through the level until you reach a barricade. Climb over the barricade and push yourself against the back wall until you find the first turret piece. Battle the boss dinosaur Utahraptor. Aim at his head until you shoot his brain and kill it. Travel to the group of eggs and grab the second turret. Walk up to the campfire to end the level.
Other Levels
The rest of the levels function in the same way. There is a direct path in every level that is clearly made for the player to travel through. The key is to aim for vital organs on the dinosaurs, collect plenty of ammo and keep collecting the turret. The objectives for the levels are simple and the basic motive is to kill dinosaurs and move on.
