How to Pass the Red Necklace Spike Floor in God of War

"God of War" for PlayStation 2 is an action adventure game with puzzle elements. One of the harder challenges in the game occurs in the "Cliffs of Madness" chapter, where you enter a room with an objective to collect a red necklace known as the Necklace of Aphrodite. To collect the item, you have to avoid spikes that spring up from the floor after a timer expires -- they can instantly kill you if you touch them.

Instructions

  Enter the cave in the Cliffs of Madness with several holes in the floor and mutilated bodies scattered around. Explore the room to learn the layout, making note of the lever in the left end, the high ledge at the right end and the closed door.

  Walk to the lever and press the action button to pull it. An audible timer starts counting. Also, the closed door opens, revealing a box.

  Run to the box and press the action button to grab it. Pull it out of the hole in the wall, then run to the other side of the box, press and hold the action button, then release it to charge-kick it towards the high ledge. Keep pushing the box until it's beneath this ledge.

  Jump on top of the box, then jump up to the ledge and climb up. Walk forward, jump over the gap and catch the vine wall. Climb this wall to the top and grab the Necklace of Aphrodite.
