How to Beat the God of War in God Mode on the Clones of Kratos

"God" mode, the most challenging difficulty level in the game "God of War," presents the ultimate challenge to players as they guide Kratos through the dangers of ancient Greece. After you defeat Ares for the first time, he sucks you into an alternate world where Kratos' family is still alive. Clones of Kratos surround and try to kill his family. You must fend off the clones, and if your family takes damage, you must hug them to transfer your health to them. Use mana and the Rage of the Gods to make this battle a bit less difficult.

Instructions

- 1
  Run up to the first clone that tries to attack your family. Press "Circle" to throw the clone. This kills him and you earn some mana.

  Attack the clones with any powerful combo, such as Might of Hercules or Hermes Fury. To perform Might of Hercules, press "Square" and then hold down "Square" for a few seconds. For Hermes Fury, tap "R1" three times. Each time you physically attack a clone, your Rage of the Gods meter fills.

  Press "L3" and "R3" together to use Rage of the Gods when the meter fills completely. This increases your strength and defense, and gives you unlimited mana. Use the Army of Hades spell. Dozens of souls appear to attack the clones.

  Hold down "L2" and tap "Circle" quickly to cast Gorgon Rage. This spell turns the clones around you to stone. Hit the petrified clones a few times to shatter them.

  Cast the Poseidon's Rage spell. Press "Circle" rapidly to make the spell more powerful. Poseidon's Rage hits the clones with bolts of lightning.

  Cast Army of Hades again. Follow Army of Hades with the same three spells you previously cast. Keep using spells until your Rage of the Gods meter empties.

  Use physical attacks to keep the clones away from your family. When your family's health is low, use the Army of Hades spell. While the souls attack the clones, stand next to your family. Tap "Circle" to give them some of your health.

  Keep attacking clones with your blades until the Rage of the Gods meter fills again. Repeat the spell-casting process and heal your family as necessary until the clones are all dead.
