Turns
The best time in any race to pass an opponent is often when coming out of a turn. To execute the perfect turn, ride along the outer edge of the track and hold the handbrake briefly, then accelerate forward as you come around the end of the turn. You may come out of the turn around 170 miles per hour while other cars might be as much as 50 miles per hour below you.
Drafting
Cars maintain their highest speeds before a pass, when a car or even a train of cars in front of them deflects the wind and minimizes resistance. A train of cars can stick together for a short time and pass lone cars before breaking up and competing again. This is called drafting.
Collisions
During particularly long races, players have enough laps to turn their car in the opposite direction of other cars and collide with them each time they meet on the circuit. A head-on collision or other hard hit will send its recipient into flames and disqualify the racer. After all cars have been eliminated, you can finish the race uncontested and guarantee victory.
Locked Cars
When choosing a car before a race, locked cars become selectable when a locked color scheme is chosen by a player on a car that the player has unlocked. Though the color scheme does not change, all cars become available.
