How to Get Hell Gate Flame in FF12

Getting the Hell-Gate's Flame is necessary for obtaining a high-level piece of weaponry in "Final Fantasy XII." Once you've acquired the correct items, you can sell the Hell-Gate's Flame at the Bazaar to obtain the Gemsteel, which is an ingredient in the powerful Masamune. Earning a supply of Hell-Gate's Flames takes patience and perseverance. It's an uncommon item, and the few enemies that carry it can be equally elusive. Knowing where to look for these monsters will reduce the frustration involved in the process.

Instructions

  Go to the Feywood. Locate and battle the Cerberus enemies roaming the area. Continue fighting until you receive a Hell-Gate's Flame as a drop. Increase your chances of obtaining the item by stealing during the fights.

  Go to the Summit Path area in Mosphoran Highwaste. Locate each of the five Worgen enemies in the area. There is a 7 percent chance that the Wary Wolf will appear in place of a Worgen. Engage the Wary Wolf, and use the Poach ability to receive a Hell-Gate's Flame. If the Wary Wolf is not present, exit the area and return to try again.

  Complete the Mark Hunting side-quests until you receive the "Ancient Man of Mystery" bill. Speak with Montblanc to begin the mission, then head to the Tasche Span area in Lhusu Mines. Defeat Gilgamesh and Enkidu here, then proceed to Site 7 for the second battle. Steal from Enkidu during the fight for a chance at obtaining a Hell-Gate's Flame.
