  Gain the cloudy mirror from Remium Temple. On the road you'll come across a summoner named Belgemine who will challenge Yuna to a summoner's duel. Speak with her in front of the Al Bhed shop in the Calm Lands, where she'll prompt one last duel. Afterward, speak to the chocobo trainer at the north end of the cliffs. When she gives you a chocobo, go to the far right of the Calm Lands entrance to a secret path leading to Remiem Temple. Go to the spiral at the base of the temple and initiate the treasure collecting minigame. The cloudy mirror will randomly appear in one of these chests.

  Charge the mirror. Head back to the entrance of the Calm Lands through Macalania Forest. A woman and her son will be looking for the father of the family. Agree to help find him and a shimmering path up through the trees will appear nearby. Head up the path and find the father near a star-like shine in the sky. Speak with the father and he'll return to his family. Now interact with the star and it will turn your cloudy mirror into a celestial mirror. Return to this star when you have collected a character's weapon as well as the crest and sigil associated with that character. For Tidus, you'll need the Caladbolg, the sun crest and the sun sigil.

  Find the Caladbolg in the Calm Lands. In the far north west of the plains there will be a hidden path into the valley. There will be a guard blocking the path, but he will move if you challenge the chocobo trainer to a race. Beat the chocobo trainer in a race and head down the path to a treasure chest. Inside the chest is Tidus' sword, the Caladbolg.

  Find the Sun crest. Progress with the story past the Calm Lands and to the ruins of Zanarkand. At the end of Zanarkand is a boss fight, Lady Yunalesca. When you defeat her, go down the stairs at the back of the room. The stairs will teleport you back to the entrance. But if you try taking them three times, a treasure chest containing the Sun Crest will appear.

  Earn the Sun Sigil from the chocobo trainer and charge the Caladbolg. To earn the sigil, you must outrace the chocobo trainer again. However, your final time must be 0:00. To have a time of 0:00 you must collect as many balloons in the race and avoid every incoming bird. When you've beaten her she'll give you the sun sigil. Return to the star in Macalania forest, and it will fuse the Sun Sigil and the Sun Crest with the Caladbolg, which maximizes its power.
