How to Pay O'aka's Debt in Final Fantasy X-2

"Final Fantasy X-2" includes multiple merchants from whom you can buy new items. One such merchant is O'aka, from the original "Final Fantasy X" game. You first encounter O'aka in Chapter One's Macalania Forest area after you get the Paine's Full Throttle Dressphere item. When you first encounter him, O'aka is in debt, owing 100,000 Gil to the Al Bhed. As you'll discover, it is up to you to help O'aka pay off his debt.

Instructions

  Head north from the Macalania Forest area's Crystal Road. Head to the Travel Agency, where you'll encounter Al Bhed members causing problems for O'aka. When O'aka runs for the forest, follow him.

  Follow the Crystal Path back to the beginning of the Macalania Forest. O'aka will be there, but he'll run when you get close. Chase him down by taking the northern path. Move Yuna toward O'aka once you spot him hiding at the top of a tree on the northern path. When you get near enough, he'll ask you to help him settle his debt.

  Tell O'aka he can join you on your airship, and then return to the ship. Every item you purchase from O'aka goes toward clearing his debt. Buy 100,000 Gils worth of items from him to completely clear off his debt. You don't have to buy that much from him at once; every time you buy an item from him, his debt decreases by the cost of the item.
