How Do I Beat the Guardian in the Shrine of Kaddan in Star Ocean?

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, also known as Star Ocean 3, is a PS2-exclusive RPG released in 2004 in the United States and Europe. It has garnered a respectable 80 on Metacritic and is considered one of the best RPG's available for the PS2. Unlike many Japanese RPG's, which have menu-driven, turn-based combat, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time features an action-based, real-time combat system on a grid, which is better suited to controlling one character at a time. Many of the bosses, like the Guardian of the Shrine of Kaddan, try the skills of players by moving and reacting quickly.

  Obtain the "Saint's Amulet" in the Shrine of Kaddan. It is broken up into three parts and scattered all over the shrine. Take the three parts to the Shrine of Kaddan workshop in the southeast and combine them into the "Saint's Amulet." Without this, you cannot harm the Crystal Cerberus.

  Focus on non-elemental attacks, as the Crystal Cerberus is immune to elemental attacks. Pay attention to his dashing pattern to avoid being defeated quickly.

  Use quick skills like "Side Kick" and "Charge" to cancel his attacks and keep him in one place. The key to winning this fight is to pin the Crystal Cerberus in a corner and attack it relentlessly.
