Overview
A sequel to the original "Samurai Warriors" game, "Samurai Warriors 2" adds new moves and skills for the player to learn as he progresses through the game. Special stances can be gained and secret fighting attacks carried out as the player's character gains power. In addition, the game adds new game modes to the main storyline-based mode, including Free mode, Survival mode, Vault, and Sugoroku.
Characters
The characters in "Samurai Warriors 2" are all representations of historically famous Japanese samurai. Though some of them never knew each other, the characters in "Samurai Warriors 2" exist within the same time frame. In fact, the game exaggerates the roles and powers of many of the characters, creating incredibly fictionalized special attacks for each and embellishing personal connections that have no tie to their actual historical context. The broad character roster in the game draws from many aspects of Japan's feudal society, and includes shoguns and warlords, samurai, ninja and geisha.
Battlefields
The battlefields in which the action takes place are based upon historically famous grounds and castles in Japan, including the castles of Osaka, Odani, Odawara, and Ueda, Anegawa, Kanegasaki, and Kyushu. The player must fight across these sprawling grounds to finish off the last of her enemies.
