How to Kill Icarus

Traverse the Lowlands. Directly after the Courtyard of Atropos, you will reach the Lowlands. Follow the path to the right, which will bring you to the Lowlands bridge. The Lowlands bridge is broken apart and collapsing. To traverse it, you will have to swing across using a series of timed grapples by pressing the "R1" button. The lower left of the screen will flash "R1" when you should press the button to grapple to the next point.

Defeat the enemies and make your way to the Great Chasm. Once you are on a stable section of the bridge, you will enter a cave. Make your way to the right until your path is blocked. Here you must win a series of battles against a pair of sirens. Once you defeat them, another siren and a pair of minotaurs will appear in this same area. Defeat them to open up the path to the right once more. Follow the path until your way is blocked again and you must battle the next set of enemies, a couple of satyrs, and then a couple of juggernauts. Defeat them to open the path out of the cave and back onto the Lowlands bridge.

Save your game after you have dispatched the juggernauts, then continue back out onto the bridge. When you reach a place where the bridge has broken away, you will be introduced to Icarus in a cutscene.

Follow the "Left Analog" stick prompts in the lower left corner of the screen after the cutscene ends; once the fight with Icarus begins, Kratos and Icarus will be free-falling while fighting. You will be prompted to execute specific motions on your left analog stick, such as a "left to right" motion or a "clockwise circle" motion. These must be done immediately to prevent Icarus from causing damage to you. Follow the prompts until Kratos is atop Icarus.

Press the "Square" and "Triangle" buttons rapidly to cause Kratos to pummel Icarus. Continue doing so until Icarus regains the top position.

Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you rip the wings off Icarus. Once you have done so, Icarus will fall to his death, and you will use the wings to glide to safety.
