How to Find the Man with a Windvane in Final Fantasy 12

The Windvane in "Final Fantasy XII" is your reward for completing the first part of the Earth Tyrant side-quest in Rabanastre. This item will allow you to overcome the sandstorms in Dalmasca Westersand and do battle with the Earth Tyrant. The quest is first available after you obtain the Dawn Shard from the Tomb of Raithwall.

To find the Windvane, first you must initiate the quest by speaking with three different men. Once you locate the Wind Globe and return it to the men, you will receive the Windvane.

Instructions

  Talk to Rimzat at Westgate in Rabanastre to begin the quest. Head to the Southern Plaza and speak with Cotze, the man in the fountain. Locate Northon near the Storehouse in North Sprawl and talk to him. Exit to the Westersand after the conversation. You will now have to locate the Wind Globe.

  Head west from Galtea Downs to The Midfault. Turn south to Shimmering Horizons, then northwest to Windtrace Dunes. Go to the southeast corner of the area and locate the grouping of Dynast-Cacti. Search around this area and you will obtain the Wind Globe.

  Return to Rabanastre and head to Westgate. Locate Rimzat, Cotze and Northon. They will be standing together chatting in this area. Complete the quest by speaking with them. The men will give you the Windvane as a reward.
