How Do I Get the Headset to Work on My PS2?

Though not supported by nearly as many games as the PlayStation 3 iteration, certain PlayStation 2 online games support a headset microphone accessory. This gives you the opportunity to audibly plan out complicated strategies with teammates or trash-talk your opponents. You can set up your microphone on your PlayStation 2 using the USB inputs on the device itself.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug your PS2 headset into your console. Stretch out the cable attached to the headset so that it can reach the rear panel of the PlayStation 2 console. Insert the plug on the end of the cable into the PS2's USB port.

    • 2

Insert a game disc that is compatible with the headset. "SOCOM: US Navy Seals" is a notable title (which was also the first) for the PlayStation 2 console that is compatible with the headset.

    • 3

Place the headset around your head. The long bar on the front of the headset should be placed in front of your mouth. You talk into the headset by speaking directly into the microphone on the end of this bar. The ear pieces on the headset should be touching your ears.
