How to Use Phoenix Down on an Enemy in FFXII

Not only can you use a "phoenix down" to revive a fallen character in "Final Fantasy XII," you can also use it as a weapon. Throughout the game, you'll encounter undead enemies that are vulnerable to curative magic and items. Using a phoenix down can provide an instant kill on some undead enemies, such as the Cultsworn Lich and Aerieel. By using this item during battle, you can achieve a quick and simple victory without putting your characters at risk.

     Open the battle menu by pressing the Square button.

     Highlight the "Items" command and press the X button.

   • 3

     Choose a phoenix down from your inventory and press the X button.

   • 4

     Cycle through the available targets by using L1 or R1. Highlight the enemy you wish to hit with the phoenix down.

   • 5

     Use the phoenix down by pressing the X button.
