"Batman Vengeance"
Released in 2001, "Vengeance" was the first Batman title to be released on the PS2. Based on "The New Adventures of Batman" animated series, the game puts you into the shoes of the Caped Crusader as you fight some of his most formidable foes, including The Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze. The game was also well reviewed by the likes of IGN and GameSpot.
"Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu"
Developed by Ubisoft, this third-person fighter was released in 2003. The game is stylized after the wildly popular Warner Bros. animated series with voice work provided by the cast of the series. The game lets you play as Batman, Batgirl, Robin and Nightwing as you fight Scarecrow, Clayface, Bane and Sin Tzu.
"Batman Begins"
Released alongside the Batman film reboot in 2005, this game lets you play out the events of the "Batman Begins" film, taking up the mantle of Batman to defeat the evil plans of Ra's al Ghul. The game includes cut scenes directly from the film itself to provide backstory and closely follows the plot of the film.
"LEGO Batman: The Videogame"
Hot off the success of "LEGO Star Wars", this game transposes the legend of Batman into the addicting gameplay of the LEGO side-scroller series. Released in 2008, this title lets you play as both the hero and the villain, letting you control the most famous and infamous characters of Batman canon, including Robin, Commissioner Gordon, Batgirl, Joker, Riddler, Mr. Freeze and the Dark Knight himself. "LEGO Batman" marks the last produced Batman video game for the PS2, as future titles appeared exclusively on next-gen consoles.
