How to Locate the Monster in Dragon Quest 8

Dragon Quest 8 is one of the most beloved titles on the Playstayion 2 (PS2.) One of the reasons Dragon Quest became so popular is the ability to recruit monsters into your team. Before you can start scouting for new monsters to join your party, however, you must complete certain tasks for Morrie, the Master of the Monster Arena.

Instructions

- 1
  Find Morrie on the roof of the Monster Arena. Morrie will ask you to locate and defeat three monsters before you can enter. For the first, go to the beach south of Pickham and southeast from Red's house to battle Squiggles, a pink squid with a shell wand. Defeat him and move on.

  The next monster is the Hollow Knight Lonely Joe. You'll find him on the way to the ruined abbey, southeast of Maella Abbey. Beat Lonely Joe to recruit him.

  Go to Trodain Castle for the last monster. Smiles, a blue slime creature, will be on the path south of the castle. He's tougher than regular slimes, but easy to defeat.

  Go back to Morrie and he'll let you enter the Monster Arena. After this, you can scout other monsters in the game as long as you're at a high enough rank in the arena for a particular monster.
