List of Final Fantasy X Characters With Optional Aeons

Aeons in "Final Fantasy X" are spirit forces that help out any of the seven playable heroes in their fight against a foe called Sin. There are eight Aeons, and you'll automatically receive five of them as you progress through the game's main plot. The other three are attached to characters that are only available if you complete side-quests in dangerous locations.
  1. Tidus

    • Tidus is the star blitzball player for the Zanarkand Abes, and the first character you'll encounter. When Sin destroys Zanarkand toward the beginning of the game, Tidus is transported into the future, which sets the plot in motion. He's a strong character, with useful skills like speed and support magic.

    Auron

    • A loyal friend of Tidus' father, Auron is at first a mysterious character, but his motivations reveal themselves during the course of the game. In battle, Auron's physical attack skills are very useful. His armor-piercing capabilities can help take down strong enemies.

    Rikku

    • Riku is a member of the Al Bhed, a splinter race that relies on machinery rather than the magic favored by the game's other races. She makes a key addition to the party since she brings an exclusive array of skills to battle. Rikku can steal and use special items right away, and her Bribe ability also comes in handy.

    Wakka

    • Wakka is a veteran blitzball player and captain of the woeful Besaid Aurochs. He and Tidus form an immediate bond over their shared love of the sport. Wakka even uses his blitzball during battles. He can inflict status-ailments with his accurate attacks.

    Yuna

    • Yuna, the only summoner in the group, is the only character who can use Aeons during battle. Yuna's high magic stats make her useful for curative and defensive spells.

    Lulu

    • Lulu has a close relationship with Yuna and does her best to protect Yuna. Lulu serves as the black mage of the group. Her strengths lie with her offensive magic. She has high evasion stats as well, which help her avoid enemy attacks.

    Kimahri

    • Another close friend of Yuna, Kimahri comes from a race of horned, mountain-dwelling creatures called the Ronso. He's useful in battle for his powerful physical skills and his ability to learn enemy attacks.

    Optional Aeon: Yojimbo

    • Yojimbo's behavior during battle is reminiscent of a sword-for-hire. Unlike the other Aeons who will attack on command, Yojimbo will not attack unless you pay him. The amount of damage he inflicts on enemies is based on the amount you give him. He is found in the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth area.

    Optional Aeon: Anima

    • Anima is at the hidden Baaj Temple location. The side-quest involved in fulfilling his ownership requirements has many steps, but Anima is worth it. His most powerful attacks inflict non-elemental damage on all enemies, with a high chance of causing instant death.

    Optional Aeon: The Magus Sisters

    • The Magus Sisters are available at Remiem Temple after a side-quest involving item-fetching and a series of battles against a summoner. Cindy, Sandy and Mindy work as a team during battles. Each sister has her own physical attacks to support magic. They can also combine powers. Their shared "Overdrive" attack is one of the most powerful attacks in the game.
