How to Catch a Huge Fish in Persona 4

"Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4," released in the U.S. for the PlayStation 2 in 2008, is a complex title with many mini-games that can be played separately from the main storyline. Though most of the questing involves the team battling Shadows and obtaining Arcana within the labyrinthine maze of Tartarus, the player can opt to relax at the river with a fishing pole, reeling in fish of different sizes. The Huge Fish can be caught during this diversion, if the right prerequisites are met.

Instructions

- 1
  Obtain the Fishing Rod. After the school day on the first of May of the first year, you can opt to travel to the river and speak to the old man, who will give you the Fishing Rod key item. On and after May 2nd, you can fish after school and on weekends at the river.

  Obtain Fish Bait. The Fish Bait item can be gotten several different ways. The old man will give you some when he hands you the Fishing Rod, and more can be obtained from the old woman outside of your house. You can also purchase bait from the TV shopping network or create bait while cooking specific dishes in the kitchen.

  Wait until November. Huge Fish will not emerge until then, but you can fish for them any time after the first of November.

  Wait for the correct weather. Catching Huge Fish will only be possible when it is cloudy or rainy. You can check the TV for the weather forecast to help plan your fishing excursions.

  Throw out your line. Press the X button at the river to do so.

  Wait for a vibration on your controller. Tap O to pull the up the line.
- 7
  Try again if your catch is not a Huge Fish. Replenish your Fish Bait as needed.
