Instructions for Monster Rancher 4

"Monster Rancher 4" was released for PlayStation 2 in November 2003 . The game allows you to breed and train monsters while being able to fully customize the monster training facilities. Efficiently designing these facilities lets you train new monsters faster. Users also use the game discs for previous "Monster Rancher" titles to unlock new types of monsters. The controls vary depending on whether you want to go on an adventure, raise a monster or join battles.

Instructions

  1. Controls for Adventures

    • 1

      Press the "Circle" button to display data. Use the "X" button to open treasure chests and explore any areas of interest. Use the left analog stick to move around.

      Press the "Square" button to show command options, check items, sort the monster order, open the map or quit an adventure. Press the "Triangle" button to close the command options menu.

      Press the "L1" button to reset the camera. Use the "L2" button to zoom in and out while in the 2D map. Press "R1" to ride a monster that has riding ability and press "R2" to change monsters.

    Controls to Raise Monsters

      Use the directional buttons to choose commands. Press "X" to enter commands or "Triangle" to cancel commands.

      Use the "L1" or "R1" buttons to switch monster displays to raise more than one monster.

      Press the "Square" button to show the command menu. Press the "Circle" button to show the data screen.

    Controls for Battle

      Use the "R2" button to rotate the skills panel backwards and use the "R1" button to rotate the skills panel forward. Press "X," "Square" or "Circle" while the skills panel is open to assign a skill to each button. Press "X," "Square" or "Circle" in battle to use the assigned skill for each button.

      Press the "Triangle" button to knock an enemy backward. Press the "Start" button to pause the game. Use the "Select" button to display the "Give Up" menu.

      Push the directional buttons towards your opponent to move forward. Push the directional buttons away from your opponent to move backwards. Use the left analog stick to move toward and away from your opponent.

      Press the "L1" button to switch monsters when there is a monster available to relieve the current monster. Press "L2" together with one of the skills buttons to enter "Counter Mode."

      Push the left analog stick toward an opponent and press the "Triangle" button to step into a battle. Press the left analog stick away from an opponent and press "Triangle" to step out of a battle.
