How to Unlock All the Characters in Ultimate Ninja 4: Naruto Shippuden

Released in 2009, "Ultimate Ninja 4: Naruto Shippuden" is a 3D fighting game exclusively for the PlayStation 2. Fifty-two ninjas are ultimately unlocked and playable, but requirements vary for unlocking individual characters. Some can be unlocked just by playing through a mode or defeating their characters while others can only be unlocked by having an existing save file or through unlocking cut scenes. Eighteen characters in all can be earned through various methods.

Instructions

  Select the character of Naruto on the main menu to begin "RPG" mode. Collect all 37 "Memory Fragments" to unlock "Hero" mode. Complete "RPG" mode, which is also known as either "Master" or "Story" mode, to unlock the characters of Chiyo and Itachi.

  Begin a "Hero" mode using Naruto. Defeat Kabuto to unlock him. Defeat Zabuza in "Hero" mode to unlock him. Defeat Haku in "Hero" mode to unlock him.

  Defeat the nearly full Shukaku version of Gaara to unlock the old version of Gaara. Unlock the scene of Temari's fight against Shikamaru during the Chuunin exams to earn the old version of Temari. Unlock the scene of Kankurou's fight against Shino during Konoha's invasion to earn the old version of Kankurou. Scenes will be unlocked just by playing through an entire "Hero" mode.

  Unlock the scene of Tsunade attacking Orochimaru to get the character of Shizune. Unlock Orochimaru by completing the level where Naruto fights him. Unlock the scene of Sandaime's funeral to get Nidaime Hokage. Unlock the scene where Godaime Hokage, or Tsunade, attacks Orochmaru to earn the character of Godaime Hokage.

  Defeat Orochimaru using Sandaime Hokage during Konoha's invasion to earn the character of Sandaime Hokage. Unlock the scene of Naruto protecting Tsunade from Kabuto to earn the character of Jiraiya. Collect all the "Memory Fragments" and defeat "Hero" mode to unlock the Yellow Flash.

  Defeat Didara in "Master" mode to unlock his character. Defeat Sasori in "Story" mode to unlock his character. Defeat Kisame in "RPG" mode to unlock his character.
