How to Transfer Credits to GT4

"Gran Turismo 4" is a racing simulator for the PlayStation 2, developed by Polyphony Digital and released in 2005. If you have a save file from either "Gran Turismo 3" or "Gran Turismo 4: Prologue," GT4 allows you to transfer your A and B licenses and up to 100,000 credits to your new save file for a hefty head start. This can only be done once and only when you first start a new save file in "Gran Turismo 4."

Things You'll Need

  • PS2 memory card
  • "Gran Turismo 3" or "Gran Turismo 4: Prologue" save data

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the memory card that contains your "Gran Turismo 4" save data into slot one of your PlayStation 2. If your "Gran Turismo 3" or "Gran Turismo 4: Prologue" data is on a different memory card, insert that card into slot two.

    • 2

      Start "Gran Turismo 4."

    • 3

Select "Gran Turismo Mode" from the main menu. Navigate to the Home icon and press the X button. Navigate to and select the "Status" option.

    • 4

Press "Start," then select "OK" to begin transferring data. If your "Gran Turismo 3" or "Gran Turismo 4: Prologue" save data is not on the memory card in slot one, the game will say so and ask you to select the memory card in slot two. Your licenses will be transferred first. When this is done, select "OK."

    • 5

Select "OK" once more to begin transferring your credits -- up to 100,000. If the transfer was successful, your A and B license icons will illuminate, eliminating your need to pass those license tests again, and you will have additional credits.
