How to Make Custom PS2 Games

Unlike older video games, Sony PlayStation 2 video games have a level of customization unlike the games that came before it. Some games allow you to customize through the edit and option menus. In games that do not have these options, you can use a cheat device like the GameShark or Action Replay Max to customize the game.

  Insert a game that allows for customization. Wrestling games like "Fire Pro Wrestling Returns" allow you to create wrestlers, rings and leagues in the "Edit" mode. Sports games like EA Sports' "Madden" series allow you to create teams and players. You can even edit the players already in the game.

  Insert the GameShark disc into the PS2 and turn the console on. Select a game from the menu. Find codes that will allow you to have new features or unlock all the in-game surprises. Select the "Start Game" option and insert the PS2 game.

  Use Action Replay Max. Just like the GameShark, the Action Replay Max will allow you to unlock secretes and give you more options in hundreds of games. Insert the Action Replay disc in the PS2 and select the game and codes you want. Select the "Start Game" option and insert the PS2 game.
