How to Burn PS2 Games With DVDFab

With new video games for consoles such as the Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) becoming more expensive, it makes sense to protect the original DVDs by making copies and using them instead. Programs from third-party companies like DVDFab allow you to burn (clone) your games safely and quickly on a PC, although you must be the lawful owner of the game you wish to copy, or you risk breaking strict copyright legislation.

Things You'll Need

  • PC with DVD drive
  • Original PS2 game
  • Blank DVD

Instructions

    • 1

Install or run the DVDFab program on your PC.

    • 2

Click on the "Clone" button that appears on the left-hand side of the screen in the DVD to DVD panel.

    • 3

Insert the PS2 DVD you wish to copy, and wait for a pop-up box that asks you to specify the DVD's region code.

    • 4

Choose one of the six regional options available---USA and Canada is Option 1---and wait for the pop-up box to disappear.

    • 5

Click on the downward arrow at the end of the "Target" bar, and check that it displays a line of text. You can also make an ISO (International Organization for Standardization) image of the DVD by clicking on the small file logo alongside the "Target" bar. If you select this option, a pop-up box listing its reference will be shown.

    • 6

Move your cursor to the bottom-right corner of the screen, and click the "Start" button.

    • 7

Wait for the screen to confirm the clone process has ended successfully, and insert your blank DVD into the PC. A pop-up box may ask for confirmation that you want to write over any information on the DVD.

    • 8

Click on the "Finish" button when the program is done copying.

    • 9

Check to see if the DVD has copied successfully by inserting it into your modified PS2 console.
