How to Create a Fatality in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon on PS2

Since the first "Mortal Kombat" game was released, the video game fighting franchise has been known for its gruesome finishing moves, called "fatalities." In "Mortal Kombat: Armageddon," the creators decided to do away with the traditional fatalities of the series, instead allowing players to create their own fatalities by chaining different button combinations. Most of the 60 characters in the game use the same button combinations for chains and transitions, but some, including characters who use swords and "large" characters, have other restrictions.

Instructions

    • 1

Select a game mode, "Arcade" or "Versus." This brings you to the character select screen.

    • 2

Choose your fighter. Some characters cannot perform certain chains and transitions. Most characters share the same move set (with minor variations), but the "large" characters, including Blaze, Goro, Kintaro, Moloch and Onaga, have their own set of moves.

    • 3

Battle your opponent. Beat him until his health bar is gone for two rounds (unless you've specified otherwise), after which you can "finish" your opponent with a custom fatality.

    • 4

Press the code for a forward chain move. Do not start a fatality with a transition. String together chains that attack your opponent's arms and legs. Use transitions in your chain to turn your opponent around and attack him from behind. Some characters can also impale opponents with weapons, but if you use the weapon you can no longer use chains that make use of it.

    • 5

End the fatality with a "finisher" move. This makes the fatality official. Regardless whether you've previously chained together two moves or ten, the finisher is the final move you can input before your opponent falls.
