"Gran Turismo 4" is a car racing simulation game for the Playstation 2 (PS2) in which players can choose from a variety of cars and race them in several international locations. Just like official car races, each race has a pace car, the purpose of which is to control the general speed of the race. While passing the pace car is in no way beneficial to the player, it is possible to pass the car by manipulating your own speed.

Begin your race, and drive as fast as possible to get close to the pace car.

Slow down a bit while you are behind the pace car. This will cause the pace car to slow down as well, to adjust to your speed.

Pick up speed again as the pace car is slowing down and drive around the car to get ahead of it.
