Airplane Cheat Codes for Grand Theft Auto 4 on PS3

"Grand Theft Auto IV" for the PlayStation 3 allows you to take control of numerous vehicles -- including cars, boats and helicopters -- but you cannot take control of an airplane. While various cheats exist that allow you to spawn vehicles, no cheats exist that allow you to spawn -- or control -- an airplane. However, that does not mean that Niko -- the main character within the game -- cannot take to the skies.

Police Chopper
- Although you cannot actually fly an airplane in "Grand Theft Auto IV," you can use a cheat to spawn other flying vehicles, including a police chopper. During game play, take out your cellphone. Press up on your directional pad or analog stick to take out your phone. Press up again to display the keypad of the phone. Dial the number "FLY-555-0100" and a police chopper will spawn -- or appear -- nearby. Approach the chopper and press Triangle to enter it. Once inside, you can pilot the helicopter over Liberty City. The police chopper is also known as the Annihilator.
More Flying
- Niko has the ability to spawn another helicopter -- known as the Buzzard helicopter -- during game play. Take out your cellphone and dial "359-555-2899," and the Buzzard helicopter will appear. As with the Annihilator, Niko can fly and operate this chopper over Liberty City. Niko can also spawn a parachute. Dial "359-555-7272" on your cellphone and Niko will have a parachute at his disposal. Although not a flying vehicle, the parachute will allow you to glide over Liberty City until you hit the ground.
Purpose
- Spawning a helicopter or a parachute helps you defeat the game in two ways. If the police are hot on your tail -- and you are on foot -- spawning a helicopter will help you get away. However, the police have choppers of their own in the sky, so keep this in mind. The parachute can help you if you jump -- or fall -- from a tall building. Both will also help you create more damage on the streets of Liberty City, allowing you to take down targets from above.
Warning
- Once you spawn a helicopter -- or any other vehicle -- in "Grand Theft Auto 4," you cannot spawn another one unless you save your game and then reload your game. However, you must park your spawned vehicle in your parking spot outside of a safe-house. Doing this will allow you to spawn another vehicle once you reload the game. Your original spawned vehicle will still be parked by the safe-house. If you do not save and reload a game, you can only spawn one vehicle at a time. If you spawn a second, the first one will disappear.
