GTA IV Cheats to Detonate

"Grand Theft Auto" is a series of console video games that lets players hijack cars, cause mayhem and work through a series of challenges. "Grand Theft Auto IV" was released in December 2008 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. There have been two expansions in the form of downloadable content since the release: "The Lost and Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony."
  1. Befriending Packie

    • During the game, you have a chance to complete missions for Patrick McReary, also known as Packie. Packie is a gangster that you can befriend. He is available to you between 3pm and 6am. After you complete the "Three Leaf Clover" mission and increase your "Like" stat with him to above 75%, you have the option to call him. Calling Packie allows you to call a car bomb. Packie will tell you where he leaves the bomb and you can retrieve it and use it to remove difficult targets.

    Exploiting Packie's Car Bomb

    • When you make the call to Packie to set up a car bomb, it normally targets a car in a specific area. The car will blow up and this can take out your target. You can get control of this car bomb by finding out where Packie places the bomb. After the bomb is placed, go to the area and find it. You can grab the bomb now and place it on another car later, then just call Packie and have him detonate the bomb. This lets you use the bomb on targets that Packie normally would not help you with.

    Sticky Bombs

    • Sticky bombs are a type of explosive that was added to "Grand Theft Auto IV" in "The Ballad of Gay Tony" downloadable content. These bombs will stick to other cars but not to people. Throw sticky bombs at your target and then press "Down" on the D-pad to detonate all of the bombs. You can place a maximum of 10 sticky bombs before you detonate them. Throwing an 11th bomb replaces the first bomb that you threw.

    Modifications

    • If car bombs and sticky bombs are not enough for you, the next option is player-made modifications. You can download these modifications from fansites to add more options to your game play. A bomb modification can include features like mines, detonation bombs, larger explosions, warning blips for your bombs and the ability to disarm mines. Installing these modifications requires you to download "Mod loader" software and change files in the scripts file of "Grand Theft Auto," so read the instructions carefully before you use any modifications.
