How to Remove Your Wanted Level in Grand Theft Auto IV for the PS3

Since the basic premise of "Grand Theft Auto IV" involves committing a lot of crimes, it's understandable that you will occasionally attract police attention in the game. The severity of the police pursuit depends on the number of wanted stars you obtain. While outrunning cops with a two-star wanted level may be a piece of cake, outrunning them with a four- to six-star wanted level will probably not end well. Depending on your skill level, you can choose to simply outrun the cops or utilize a cheat code to instantly walk free.

Instructions

    • 1

Steal the nearest car if you are not already driving one. Simply walk up to a car and press "Triangle" to open the door and get in the car.

    • 2

Press "X" to accelerate and attempt to outrun the police. Avoid hitting cars and inanimate objects, as they will slow you down and make your escape harder.

    • 3

Put enough distance between yourself and the police so that you are off their meter. You can keep track of this meter by watching your GPS radar. The meter appears as a flashing blue and red circle. Keep in mind that any police cars you encounter while driving will re-center the meter.

    • 4

Outrun the circumference of the meter and stay off the police radar for a few seconds. At this point, it will flash and fade away. Once this meter fades, your wanted stars will return to zero, and the police will no longer pursue you.

    • 5

Enter a cheat code to eliminate your wanted stars immediately. Press "Up" on your directional pad to open your cell phone, and enter "2675550100." Press the "Call" button; your wanted meter will instantly return to zero.
