How to Use Level-up Glitches in Fallout 3

Perhaps one of the most boring things to do in "Fallout 3" (or any similar leveling game) is to grind out levels when you really just want to get to the last level and start using the most advanced items and abilities. "Fallout 3" had two glitches that allowed you to get to max level quickly without losing karma. These glitches were available fairly early on in the game. Both were patched by the developers but are still usable if you deleted your patches.

Instructions

  1. Andale Experience Glitch

    • 1

Head to the town of Andale, located south of Vault 101 in the border area of the map.

    • 2

Visit the Smith's house late at night. Head upstairs and pickpocket the boy.

    • 3

Select the option to murder the boy to receive 50 experience points. This will not kill the boy or lower your karma.

    • 4

Repeat Step 3 until you've reached the level you want or have maxed out your levels.

    Big Town Experience Glitch

    • 5

Make your way over to Big Town, which is located north of Vault 101.

    • 6

Speak to Bittercup, who dated Pappy in the past.

    • 7

Speak to Pappy and attempt the Speech Challenge. (The higher your speech ability, the easier this is and the quicker you can level.)

    • 8

Keep repeating the Speech Challenge to gain experience points.
