How to Beat Uncharted on Crusher Mode

The "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" video game, for PlayStation only, features four modes of gameplay: easy, normal, hard and crushing. Players must complete the first three levels before the game gives them the option to move onto the crushing level. Once players begin this level, they find that winning individual battles becomes nearly impossible, as they are met with more resistance than before. Winning certain achievements in the game allows them to beat crushing mode with less difficulty.

Instructions

    • 1

Reach Master Fortune Hunter status. This requires finding and collecting 60 treasures throughout the entire game. You can see a list of treasure names at IGN.com.

    • 2

Kill each enemy with a headshot whenever possible. You will achieve new headshot medals after five, 10, 20, 30, 50 and 100 headshots.

    • 3

Obtain 20 kills each with the Desert Eagle, Smith and Wesson .44 revolver and hand grenades.

    • 4

Eliminate 30 enemies each with the Dragon Sniper rifle, M79 grenade launcher and MP40 machine gun.

    • 5

Get 50 kills each with the rest of the weapons. Handgun options include the Beretta 92FS-9mm, Micro-9mm and PM-9mm Makarov. Rifles include the AK47 and the M4. Shotguns include the SAS and Mossberg 12-gauge models.

    • 6

Earn medals for various kill combinations. Examples of such combinations include killing 10 assailants with grenades while suspended from a precipice, or killing at least 50 enemies in a row without getting killed yourself.

    • 7

Take advantage of special privileges in the game once you have earned all medals and found all treasures. Under "Start", "Rewards", select "Unlimited Ammo". Under this same menu, you can select from all the weapons used in the game. Choose a heavy duty rifle, such as the M4, that shoots quickly and powerfully. Select between powerful and rapid for your handgun. If you can aim well, select a handgun with a heavy kick, such as the Smith and Wesson .44 or the Desert Eagle. However, if you tend to run and gun without aiming, select the automatic Micro-9mm pistol instead.

    • 8

Turn on "One Shot Kills" under the "Start", "Rewards" menu. This significantly decreases your time in firefights and helps keep you alive longer. It doesn't matter where you hit an opponent; even leg shots or foot shots eliminate an enemy in one shot.

    • 9

Play the crushing mode as you would the hard mode. This time, instead of focusing on how often you need to replenish your ammo supply, you can stay behind cover longer and battle enemies without running out of ammunition.
