How to Back Up a Game With Multiman

Multiman is free third-party software developed for the PS3. Multiman features a Web browser, ROM lister and emulator launcher, FTP server, file manager, media player, Blu-ray movie conversion software and a feature that allows users to copy games from a disk to either their PS3 internal hard drive or an external hard drive. The game can then be launched and played via the Multiman games manager. Multiman was developed by Dean Kasabow, and at the time of publication, the latest release was version v2.03.00.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Multiman from the home screen of your PS3. Insert the disk that you wish to back up into the drive.

    • 2

Select the game that you just inserted from the Multiman main screen. Select "Backup/Copy" from the menu on the right and press the "x" button.

    • 3

Select "Yes" when asked if you wish to copy the game to the internal drive. If the game is larger than 4 gigabytes, it will be broken down into 4-gigabyte portions and copied onto the external drive. Version 2.00.01 of Multiman will allow you to play these games directly from the external drive. If you are using an earlier version of Multiman, you will need to copy these files back onto your internal drive.

Wait approximately 10 minutes for 4 gigabytes of game information to be copied.
