How to Kill the Underwater Monster Turok on a PlayStation 3

"Turok" is a first person shooter video game that pits the player against a horde of overgrown insects and sci-fi militants. Toward the end of Mission 9, Turok also squares off against a sea monster. Unlike most enemies, he cannot attack it directly, as its thick hide is impervious to bullets. Instead, he must rely upon his environment to take down the beast. The sea monster lives next to three gaseous vents and by igniting them with the flamethrower, Turok can catch the sea monster on fire.

Instructions

- 1
  Determine which of the three vents is emitting vapors. Only one vent emits vapors at a time and after you ignite it, it will die and another vent will activate.

  Stand behind the vent. Eventually, the sea monster will rear its head back, preparing to lunge at you.
- 3
  Ignite the vent with your flamethrower just as the sea serpent rears its head back. If you time it correctly, the vent will explode just as the monster's head passes over it. You'll know you were successful if it shakes its head a few times afterward.
- 4
  Move to the vent that's now emitting gas and once again ignite it when the sea serpent rears its head. Repeat this several times and the serpent will die.
