How to Do a One-Handed Catch on Madden NFL 2010

"Madden NFL 10" brings the popular video game franchise another step closer toward replicating the NFL action viewers find every Sunday in real life. The spectacular one-handed catch is just one of several new animations included in the game. Even though the one-handed catch is not available to execute on command, you can greatly increase the odds of one occurring in the game by setting your receiver with a great opportunity to make one. Even those unfamiliar with the technique can pick it up with just a few attempts.

Instructions

  Select a team which has a receiver with a high "spectacular-catch" rating. Examples of these types of receivers include Chad Ocho Cinco, Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson.

  Lob a high pass out in front of your receiver. Tap the receiver's assigned button and push the analog stick upward. Pushing the stick upward will aim the pass out ahead of your receiver, while quickly pressing the assigned receiver button will lob the pass in an arc.

  Switch to control of the receiver by pressing the "O" button on the PS3 or the "B" button on the Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii.

  Wait until just before the pass arrives and tap the "Triangle" button on the PS3 or the "Y" button on the Xbox 360. If you are using the Wii, jerk the Wii remote up into the air with your wrist. If done properly, your receiver has a great chance of making a spectacular one-handed catch.
