How Do You Get the Costumes in Red Dead Redemption

There are a number of costumes and outfits available for your character in the cowboy role-playing video game "Red Dead Redemption." Some of the outfits can be bought or won whole, but others come in a number of "scraps" which you have to collect individually and then have them assembled. To get each scrap, you have to carry out a mission or challenge, so assembling some of the outfits can be a drawn-out process. Other than the Cowboy outfit you start the game with, there are 13 regular outfits and one PlayStation 3 exclusive outfit available.

Instructions

  Link your gamertag to the Rockstar Social Club online to unlock the Gentleman's Attire. Get the Elegant Suit by buying it from the tailor in Thieves' Landing and purchase any safehouse in Mexico to unlock the Mexican Poncho.

  Complete the mission "The Outlaw's Return" to get the Rancher clothing. Reach the Honor Rank of "Peacemaker" to get the Duster Coat and attain 100 percent game completion to get the Bureau Uniform.

  Go to the warehouse in Thieves' Landing and open the chest on the second floor to get the first scrap of the Bollard Twins Outfit. Go to MacFarlane's Ranch and complete a Nightwatch job and win a game of Horseshoes. Claim a Bollard Twins' Gang bounty and then defend residents of Hennigen's Stead from the Bollard Twins' Gang to get the remaining scraps. Take the scraps to the tailor at Thieves' Landing to get the whole outfit.

  Go to Silent Stead and search the small cabin to the southwest to get the first scrap of the Treasure Hunter outfit. Complete the "California" Stranger's task in Gaptooth Breach, make a profit playing Blackjack at Rathkeller Fork and claim a Treasure Hunter bounty. Then complete the Gaptooth Breach hideout to get the last scrap and go to the tailor at Thieves' Landing to get the whole outfit.

  Go to the Bandito camp south of the crossroads at Sidewinder Gulch and get the first scrap of the Bandito outfit from the chest inside the tent. Go to Chuparosa and complete a Nightwatch job, then defeat all the players in a round of Liar's Dice in Casa Madrugada. Claim a Bandito bounty and then defend the residents of Mexico from a Bandito attack to get the last scraps. Take the scraps to the General Store in Chuparosa to get the whole Bandito outfit.

  Go to the graveyard in Sepulcro and search the chest near the outer wall to get the first scrap of the Reyes' Rebels outfit. Complete the "Poppycock" Stranger's task and then complete a Horsebreaking task, both in Chuparosa. Complete the "Love is the Opiate" Stranger's Task in El Matadero and win at Five Finger Fillet in Torquemada to get the last scraps. Go to the General Store in Escalera to get the full Reyes' Rebels outfit.

  Go to the cabin on the small lake in Aurora Basin to get the first scrap of the Army Outfit after you have completed "An Appointed Time." Win at arm wrestling in the Pacific Union Railroad camp and then eliminate all other players in a game of poker in Blackwater. Complete the "Lights, Camera, Action" Stranger's Task in Cholla Springs, and then complete a Nightwatch Job in Blackwater. Take the scraps to the tailor in Blackwater to get the full Army outfit.

  Reach Rank 10 in all the Treasure Hunter, Survivalist, Master Hunter and Sharpshooter Challenges to unlock the Legend of the West outfit. Complete all US Gang Hideouts in 24 in-game hours to get the US Marshal Uniform.

  Search the chest in the basement of the ruined house in Solomon's Folly to get the first scrap of the PS3-exclusive Walton's Gang outfit. Complete a Horsebreaking job at Ridgewood Farm and win a poker game in Armadillo to get the next two scraps. Claim a Walton's Gang bounty and defend the residents of Cholla Springs from Walton's Gang to get the last scraps and take them to the tailor in Thieves' Landing to get the Walton's Gang outfit.
