How to Get Past the Twilight Fortress in Darksiders for PS3

Navigate the Cathedral. The cathedral is a maze that requires you to unlock doors by placing crystal swords in the hands of angel statues in order to access the passages.

Obtain the Crossblade. A boomerang-like weapon, the Crossblade allows you to attack long-range enemies, such as a flying monster or enemies with a powerful close-range attack that could kill you. It also helps activate traps or devices you cannot reach due to lava pits or chasms.

Solve the puzzles. Progress through the Cathedral requires figuring out puzzles in order to obtain crystal swords. To complete the pillars in the lava pit puzzle, hit the crystals with the Crossblade to move the pillars around, opening up a new passageway.

Use the environment. You can solve a lot of the puzzles by seeing what is around for use. Push statues off ledges, light torches, climb anything remotely climbable and smash things with your sword or Crossblade.

Take your time. The level takes at least an hour and a half to successfully navigate.

Fight monsters. Twilight Cathedral is littered with monsters, most of which are easy to defeat. However, at the end of the level you must fight The Jailer and Tiamat. The Jailer has weak points on his torso, so hit those with the Crossblade and then attack the creature inside the jailer when it comes out. Throw bombs at Tiamat and then ignite them with the Crossblade until she lands. After that, hit her with the Crossblade until she staggers then attack her with your sword. She will die after falling the third time.
