How to Get the Ultima Weapon in Final Fantasy XIII

"Final Fantasy XIII" is a single-player role-playing game published by Square-Enix for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game consoles. The battle system is the main component of the game. When enemies are defeated in battle, there is a chance a component item will be dropped. A component may be used to upgrade a weapon. Once a weapon has been upgraded to its maximum level, it may be changed into a completely new weapon. For example, Lightning's "Lionheart" gunblade can be transformed into "Ultima Weapon."

Instructions

  Purchase Lightning's "Lionheart" weapon from the "Plautus's Workshop." The weapon costs 28,000 gil.

  Upgrade the "Lionheart" weapon to its maximum level. Access a save point and select the "Upgrade" option. Choose "Upgrade" and select "Weapon." Scroll through the weapons list until you find "Lionhart." Select shown component items to upgrade the weapon until it reaches the max level. Once it is its max level, you will not be able to use regular items on it and a star icon will appear next to its name.

  Obtain a "Scarletite." This item may be obtained either by purchasing it from a shop or finding it after defeating an enemy. It may be purchased from "The Motherlode" for 100,000 gil. The "Adamanchelid" monster, located on the "Archylte Steppe," drops them at a 1 percent chance.

  Access a save point and select "Upgrade." Choose "Upgrade" and select "Weapons." Scroll through the list and look for the "Lionheart." Choose the "Scarletite" item from the list. Once you use the "Scarletite" to upgrade the "Lionheart," it will be transformed into "Ultima Weapon."
