How to Make a Revolving Puzzle in LittleBigPlanet

The PlayStation 3-exclusive game, "LittleBigPlanet," has two main modes, the gameplay and the level creation -- which lets you build all kinds of levels, including rotating ones. The level-creation tools allow you to build anything you can imagine quickly and easily. All the tools you need are already stored in the "Popit" menu attached to your Sackboy character. Revolving levels usually have large, outer shells which spin on an axis in the middle of the level.

Instructions

  Select an empty crater on the "My Moon" screen of the main menu. This opens a blank level on which to create. Press the down button on the directional pad to turn hovering characters on. Press the "Start" button to pause the creation.

  Move your character to the center of the level and press the square button to open the "Popit" menu.

  Scroll through the Popit until you find the "Dark Matter" material. Place a square block, about the height of your character. Position this in the middle of the screen on the back layer -- moving it back by pressing the "L1" and "L2" shoulder buttons.

  Select the cardboard or wood materials from the Popit menu. Make a large, round, flat plate which covers most of the level and covers the dark matter block. Use the "R1" and "R2" shoulder buttons to change the width of the material.

  Use the axle tool from the Popit menu to join the plate and the dark matter block. Select the two pieces and press X to attach them. Press the "Square" button to adjust the properties of the axle hinge. If you leave the hinge as-is, it will rotate loosely but you can adjust the motor on the hinge to power the axle.

  Build a level on the plate, using the glue tool to attach pieces to the plate. Build a round frame around the plate and glue it onto it. Make your puzzle on there, adding obstacles and buttons to complete the puzzle. For more information, watch the video tutorials stored in the game.

  Build the Entrance door at the center of the plate. Place the finishing spot for the game on the outside of the wheel.

  Press the "Start" button when finished. Save the level and play test. If you are not yet satisfied with how the level works, return to the edit screen and make changes.
