How Do You Get Past the Land of the Lycans on the First Board?

"Castlevania: Lords of Shadow" is a fantasy action-adventure game for the PlayStation 3. Players must journey early in the game through the "Land of the Lycans" ruled by the werewolf Cornell, the powerful Dark Lord of the Lycans. Players must defeat Cornell, who is also the first of the Lords of Shadow, in order to get past the Land of the Lycans. The fight with Cornell is broken into two parts: first with him in his human form and then as a werewolf.

Instructions

- 1
  Go down the staircase at the beginning of the "Dark Lord of the Lycans" stage within the Land of the Lycans. You will come to a circular room.

  Enter the center ring of the room to begin the battle with Cornell. He is a very quick boss, so you will need to press the "L2" button while holding the left analog stick to dodge his attacks. You can also block his attacks by standing still and holding "L2."

  Circle around behind Cornell using the left analog stick and the "L2" button. Attack him when you have an opening with the "Square" button. Repeat this process until you get him to nearly 50 percent health, at which time he will turn into his lycanthrope form.

  Continue moving behind Cornell and attacking as you did in the first half of the battle. Press "L1" to heal yourself with magic as needed. There will be a short cutscene once he reaches about 10 percent health.

  Destroy the four large pillars in the room after the cutscene finishes by using the "Square" button. The pillars to destroy have faces on them. Keep avoiding Cornell's attacks. Another cutscene will take place once you destroy the pillars.

  Press the "Square" button when you see the on-screen prompt during the cutscene to deliver the final blow to Cornell.
