How to Make an Online Profile for Modern Warfare 2 PS3

"Modern Warfare 2" is an online first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. Players can compete and cooperate in online battles using a built-in matchmaking service. Player records and unlockable items are stored in an online profile that is used whenever the game is played online. When playing on the PS3, your online profile is based on the user profile selected when you first run the game. You can make a new online profile by creating a new user profile in the PS3 system menu.

  Power on your PlayStation 3.

  Use the directional pad to navigate through the system menus.

  Highlight "Users" in the system menu, then press "X" to confirm your selection.

  Enter a name for your new user account. This name will be used to identify you in online matches of "Modern Warfare 2."

  Highlight the newly created user account and press "X." This will set the new user account as your active account.

  Run "Modern Warfare 2." Select "Play" from the main menu, then select "Multiplayer." Highlight "Play Online" and press "X" to enter the online matchmaking menu. Use this menu to search for online games. You will automatically use your new user profile when playing online.
