Team Play
Unlocking the tactical nuke is arguably the most difficult challenge in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" multiplayer mode. As such, it's not something you can easily achieve alone. Invite friends or allies online to join a clan in a team-based mode, and communicate your goal. Since earning this killstreak is about longevity, having friends guard you in a secure spot will allow you to to focus solely on racking up kills instead of defense.
Killstreak Support
Another key to racking up the 25 kills necessary to launch a tactical nuke is in killstreak customization. You can equip three killstreak rewards in ascending order of kill requirements. While there are several defense and strategy-based killstreak rewards, yours should all pack an offensive wallop to rack up multiple kills. First, equip the harrier strike at seven kills, the AC-130 gun at 11 and the nuke at 25. The two initial killstreaks will let you target specific enemy-packed areas for maximum impact.
One Man Army
The One Man Army perk allows you to use the following items all at the same time: frag grenades, semtex explosive, throwing knife, tactical insertion, blast shield and claymore. Equip this perk so that you can protect access to your position with both claymores and semtex. This way, any enemy who trips the claymore, regardless of his perks, will be destroyed. Your teammates should also equip this perk so they can continue replacing the explosives as soon as enemies trip them.
Variables
Before going for the tactical nuke, experiment with the map you're most comfortable playing on. Play around with the best-fortified high-traffic spots from which you can settle in and up your kills, while also avoiding gunfire, explosives and -- depending on the proficiency of your opponent -- killstreak attacks on your location. Once you you start racking up a high level of kills, you will become a prime target for the enemy players.
