How to Plug in a Mic in a PS3

The Sony PlayStation 3 video game console features built-in Wi-Fi, so a community of players around the world can meet online to play their favorite PS3 games together. In many of these online games, players can talk to each other on the network using a microphone. Some games, such as "Rock Band," also use a microphone as part of gameplay.

     Plug the USB microphone cable into the USB port on the front of the PS3. Turn the console on.

     Press the "X" button on the controller to select the "Settings" menu.

     Select the "Audio Device Settings" option.

     Choose "Input Device." Your USB microphone should be selected already. If it is not, choose it from among the devices on the list.
