How to Get the Top Gear Test Track in GT5

"Gran Turismo 5" is a racing simulator for the PlayStation 3. There are hundreds of vehicles in this game that have been realistically recreated in terms of looks and handling. You can compete in races versus computer-generated opponents or challenge opponents online. One of the various modes in "GT5" is "Challenge" mode, and one of the tracks in "Challenge" mode is the Top Gear Test Drive track. You can unlock the Top Gear Test Drive track for use in the game's "Arcade" and "Practice" modes.

Instructions

- 1
  Compete on the Top Gear Test Drive track in "Challenge" mode. In order to unlock the Top Gear Test Drive track in the other modes, you need to win the gold in the first round of this series, which has you racing the VW bus. Get used to the layout of the track by competing in a number of races on it.

  Take the turns on the Top Gear Test Drive track without letting up on the accelerator. Staying on the accelerator while maintaining control of your vehicle greatly enhances your chances of victory. Make sure you don't hit the small, solid red cones. Doing so will instantly disqualify you.

  Cut corners at the "Bacharach," "Chicago" and "Hammerhead" points of the race. Pull open your map so you can pinpoint these areas. They are all blocked off by the red and white striped cones, but you can plow through these without being penalized. Cut through these coned-off areas to gain some ground on your opponents.

  Finish in first place in the race to take gold. The Top Gear Test Drive track will become an option in "Arcade" and "Practice" modes when you're selecting a racetrack.
