How to Make Monster Jewels for Star Ocean: The Last Hope

"Star Ocean: The Last Hope" is a single-player role-playing game (RPG) published by Square-Enix in North America. The game was originally released only for the Xbox 360 game system but was later ported to the PlayStation 3 (PS3) under the title "Star Ocean: The Last Hope International." The game follows Edge Maverick in the year 2087 as mankind attempts to find a hospitable planet after World War III left much of the Earth in ruins. The game features fast-paced combat, a character driven storyline and the monster jewel system. The monster jewel system allows the player to defeat monsters and create "monster jewels." These jewels can be applied to weapons and armor to boost their effects. A monster jewel may be created from any existing monster in the game.

  Decide which monster you want to obtain a monster jewel for.

  Find the monster. For example, you would need to visit the Urd Falls Cave on Planet Aeos if you want to create a monster jewel of the Adephaga monster.

  Defeat monsters. You must fight the monster you want to make a jewel for repeatedly until the Monster data screen reaches 100 percent in order to make a jewel. Press the "A" button on your controller then select "Collections" and choose "Monsters" to access the "Monsters" data menu. Press the "X" button instead of "A" if you are playing the PS3 version of the game.

  Access the "Monsters" data menu once you have defeated enough monsters to reach 100 percent.

  Create a monster jewel by locating the monster in the "Monsters" data menu. Press the "A" button (or "X" for the PS3) when you locate the monster. Select "Transfer to monster jewel." Select "Yes" when a confirmation screen asking if you're sure you want to create a monster jewel appears. The monster jewel will be added to your inventory.
