How to Beat the Gorgons in God of War III for the PS3

"God of War III," released for the PlayStation 3 in 2010, continues Krato's journey to exact revenge upon the gods of Olympus. You must fight members of a race known as the Gorgons. Gorgons, smaller versions of Medusa, can be deadly in combat, wrapping themselves around Kratos and attempting to turn him to stone with her gaze. Krato's first fight against a Gorgon occurs in the Realm of Hades. After this encounter, Gorgons will appear at various locations throughout the rest of the Krato's journey.

Instructions

  Avoid the Gorgon's gaze, shown as the green cone extending from the front of her when the attack is activated, or else Kratos will be turned to stone. If Kratos is turned to stone, rotate the left analog stick from left to right quickly to release him.

  Press "R1" and "L1" repeatedly to break free, if you are grabbed by the tail of the Gorgon.

  Attack the Gorgon until an icon of a circle appears over her head.

  Press "Circle" next to the Gorgon to initiate the quick-time event, which is an interactive cut-scene.

  Press the two buttons on your PlayStation 3 controller, as they appear on screen, so that Kratos will stab the Gorgon's tail.

  Press "Circle" repeatedly to have Kratos decapitate the Gorgon, defeating her.
