How Do I Beat the Laughing Octopus?

In "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots," Solid Snake's mission is to stop his twin brother from destroying the world. One of Snake's first stops is in South America. Here, his former partner, Naomi, is forced to do research for the group that has kidnapped her. When Snake nears Naomi's prison, he is confronted by Laughing Octopus. The first boss in the game is an expert at using camouflage and other tricks to confuse and disorient you.

Instructions

  Start shooting at Laughing Octopus with your desired weapon as soon as the battle begins. As you shoot, move left and right to avoid the fire from Laughing Octopus' gun.

  Put on your night vision goggles when Laughing Octopus disappears in a foggy black cloud of ink. Run away from the floating bombs that she sends after you.

  Look around the building for Laughing Octopus. She tends to hide in places such as the building's rafters or under beds. Shoot her as soon as you see her.

  Get on top of a shelf or other high object when Laughing Octopus turns into a ball and rolls after you. This attack does heavy damage, and getting off the ground is the only way to avoid it.

  Continue shooting at Laughing Octopus until her health meter empties. This destroys her beast form.

  Allow Laughing Octopus to grab you and then wiggle the left analog stick as fast as possible. Press "Triangle" at the prompt. Snake throws her down, severely damaging her. Shoot at her while she is on the ground to finish her off.
