How to Kill the Scorpion in God of War 3

The scorpion is a fairly tough opponent in "God of War 3," but once you understand the mechanics and weak spots, finishing him off will be easier. At first, attacking the giant scorpion is straightforward, but as the battle goes on, it gets a lot trickier. Just remember to focus your attacks on the proper areas and be prepared when you get each button sequence.

Instructions

    • 1

Equip the Nemean Cestus. You will have obtained this weapon after defeating Hercules in the Path of Eos stage. This is the only weapon that can hurt the scorpion.

    • 2

Attack the scorpion's legs with Nemean Cestus. Run to one side of the scorpion and repeatedly attack the legs. Its legs are covered in protective stone. As you attack the legs, you will notice their color go from blue to orange, indicating damage. Keep attacking until all the stone is removed.

    • 3

Attack the mouth. Once you have destroyed the leg stone on one side, the scorpion will fall down. Start attacking its mouth until you get a button press sequence. Press each button as indicated on the screen.

    • 4

Attack the other set of legs. After the sequence, the scorpion will get up and start fighting again. In this case, the scorpion will run away after you destroy one leg. Fight off the scorpions until the giant one returns. Repeat the process for the remaining legs.

    • 5

Do the next sequence. Once you have taken care of the legs, a second button pressing sequence will happen. Press the buttons as directed on the screen.

    • 6

Dodge the flying objects. After the sequence, you will be falling down at the scorpion. Avoid any objects that fly at you until you land on the scorpion, at which point there will be one more sequence.

    • 7

Finish off the scorpion. After the sequence, the scorpion will freeze. Finish it off by attacking it. This will cause the scorpion to shatter.
