How to Use Stasis in Dead Space for the PS3

In "Dead Space," you are Isaac Clarke, an engineer sent to repair the Ishimura spaceship. Upon arrival, you find that the crew is dead and the spaceship is filled with aliens called Necromorphs. To have a chance against the ravenous Necromorphs, you must collect and use the Stasis ability. Stasis allows you to temporarily freeze enemies and fast-moving objects. This gives you time to defeat them before they can attack you.

Instructions

  Play through the game until you pick up the Stasis module. The module is located in the maintenance tunnels on the way to the tram.

  Use the right analog stick to aim at the enemy or object you want to slow down. Hold down "L1" to ready the Stasis module.

  Press the "Square" button to fire a Stasis beam. Each beam you fire reduces your Stasis meter slightly. When the meter is empty, you cannot use Stasis until it is refilled.

  Refill Stasis by using portable refill packs, found in containers or when you kill enemies. Stasis refill stations are also available in some areas.
