How to Upgrade Your PS3

The PlayStation 3, also known as the PS3, is a video entertainment system which boasts a Blu-ray/ DVD player, Internet connectivity and an internal hard drive. Periodic software upgrades are available for the PS3 through the PlayStation network and are required, in many cases, before playing certain games. You can download and install all of the available upgrades for your system in no time.

Instructions

  Turn on your PS3 by pressing the power button on the right side of the unit or by pressing the "PS" button in the center of your wireless controller.

  Push the analog stick on the controller to the left to scroll through the main menu options. Stop once the cursor highlights the "Settings" option.

  Scroll down once so that the "System Update" option is highlighted.

  Press the "X" button on the PS3 controller.

  Press the "X" button again and then select "OK" to download and install the latest software upgrades.
