How Do I Get an Avatar for PSN?

An avatar is a digital representation of you that is meant to represent your personality. On the PlayStation Network, which is used for the PlayStation 3, a user has an avatar that is associated with a user's account. The avatar shows next to your name. The original avatar you have is the PlayStation logo, but you can choose a different avatar from the store to showcase to your online friends. If you do not like the avatar you choose initially, you can change it as often as you want.

     Turn on your PlayStation 3, and click "Account Management" from the main menu. Select "Avatar."

     Click "Edit online profile."

     Choose an avatar from the PlayStation network's avatar library. You cannot use an avatar you created because it may be deemed offensive to the public. Sony requires you use one of its pre-approved avatars.

     Select "Continue" to confirm your avatar change.
