How Do I Allow the Online Game in Uncharted 2?

"Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" is a third person action video game produced by game maker Naughty Dog for play on the PlayStation 3 (PS3) game console. It is the second in an ongoing series that has players controlling Drake in his search for riches. In this sequel, Naughty Dog introduced an engaging multiplayer campaign that is played online. In this multiplayer mode, you can play with up to nine other people. Setting up an online match can be done with little difficulty.

  Ensure that your PlayStation 3 is connected to the internet. You can either connect via an Ethernet cable directly to the back of the PS3, or through a Wi-Fi connection. To check to see if this is connected, scroll over to "Settings" on the PS3 home page and scroll down to "Network Settings." Click on "Internet Connection Test" to see if your Wi-Fi is currently connected. If it is not, click on "Internet Connection Settings" and choose wireless connection and select your Wi-Fi network, followed by inputting your network password.

  Log on to your PlayStation Network account. This is usually done automatically after you have initially set up an account on your PS3 and you have internet connection. If it does not happen automatically, scroll over to the PlayStation Network icon on your PS3 home page, and scroll up to the option that allows you to sign in. If the PS3 has not remembered your information, you will be required to type in your account email and password information.

  Set up a PlayStation Network account. If you do not have a PlayStation Network account, you must set one up in order to play Uncharted 2 online. On the PS3 home page, scroll over to the PlayStation Network icon and click on the option "Create a New Account." Follow the necessary steps to set up an account. This account is free to set up.

  Select a Multiplayer campaign. Pop in Uncharted 2 and on the game's main menu, select the multiplayer option.

  Select which mode you would like to participate in. There are two types of multiplayer modes to choose between; either cooperative or competitive. Each of these modes has several different types of game options to choose between. For cooperative, you can choose either "Co-op Objective" or "Co-op Arena." For competitive mode, "Deathmatch," "Elimination," "Plunder," "King of the Hill," "Turf War" and "Chain Reaction" are the options. There are more options available for download via the PlayStation Network.

  Wait for other people to join the game. Once you have chosen which type of game you would like to participate in, you must wait until other people have joined. Once everyone has joined, the match will begin.
