How Can You Get a Job in Oblivion?

"Oblivion" is the fourth part in a continuation of the "Elder Scrolls" franchise. It features open-ended, role-playing elements, a main story arch, and hundreds of other missions and characters with which to interact. All of the missions can be completed in numerous ways and orders, which creates a realistic environment. There are many types of jobs which can be obtained in "Oblivion"; most of them being freelance-type positions. The only way to get a stable job is to download a mod, which modifies the original game to allow this option.

Instructions

    • 1

Walk around the "Oblivion" world and interact with as many characters as you can. Some of them will have missions for you to do for which you can get paid. All of the work obtained this way will be freelance, meaning after the mission is complete, you have to obtain another mission from a different character. Complete the mission's requirements to get paid -- you may have to find the same person afterward to get your money.

Join one of the guilds to get a string of jobs that will complement the skills of the your character. You can only get into a guild that matches the type of character that you created such as a fighter, thief or sorcerer, e.g., a fighter will not be welcomed or allowed to join the thief guild. After completing each of the jobs, return to the guild for another. The jobs will eventually run out, and will not keep you paid for the duration of the game.

Download the Oblivion "NPC with Jobs" mod from the Blasteroid website to your computer. Unzip the downloaded files with WinRAR into the"Oblivion" directory; this will be the directory that contains the original files of the game. You might have to overwrite some files, so do that when asked.

Launch "Oblivion" and under the "Data files" on the main menu screen, select the "NPC with Jobs" mod to play. In the original version of the game your character can live the life of a freelancer; however, with the mod installed your character will be able to live a life with a full-time job.
